Jim Kurtz, DC, DACRB

Dr. Kurtz is the clinic director for NW Sports Rehab, a multi-disciplinary clinic integrating sports chiropractic, acupuncture, soft tissue treatment, rehabilitation, sports specific training and performance enhancement in Federal Way, WA.  He is board certified in rehabilitation, a certified chiropractic sports physician, certified strength and conditioning specialist, and certified sports performance coach.
Dr. Kurtz has been using Active Release Techniques (ART) in his practice since 1995 and has been an ART instructor since 2002. Dr. Kurtz is a member of the ART Elite Providers’ Network.  He is also certified in the Graston Technique.
He is also an instructor for the National Academy of Sports Medicine’s Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) and Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) courses.
Dr. Kurtz was selected by the US Olympic Committee and served as Team USA’s chiropractor to the 2007 ParaPan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.  He was, also, selected to the US Olympic Sports Medicine Team and served as Team USA’s chiropractor to the 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing, China. 
He is first Vice President of the American Chiropractic Association Sports Council.  Dr. Kurtz has lectured on Diagnosis, Treatment, and Rehabilitation of the Shoulder to the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) Washington State Clinic and the ACA Sports Council’s annual symposium.
He has authored several articles on sports injuries and rehabilitation. 
Dr. Kurtz is a former member of the sports medicine staff of the PGA Tour.  He has been a member of the chiropractic or sports medicine staffs of multiple events including:  US Olympic Trials in Track & Field, US Track & Field Championships, NCAA Track & Field Championships, Pro rodeo, Ironman Triathlons, US Figure Skating Championships, Pro volleyball, Pro skateboarding and BMX championships, cycling, US Masters Swim Championships, and the performing arts.
His hobbies include cycling, running, triathlons, hiking, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his wife, 2 boys, and 2 dogs.
